Hegel have introduced the H95, a replacement for the successful entry level H90. Improvements include the addition of a much improved digital section along with Spotify connect and more stable upnp but despite these benefits the price point of the outgoing model has been maintained. The H95 has a UK retail of £1500 inc vat. you can read more about it on the Hegel website here.

H120 at Stereonet

Hegel H120 is reviewed by David Price for Stereonet, and it is safe to say he likes it. In my opinion the H120 is a great balance of performance and value so I’m glad to see David pick up on this amongst the other virtues of the product.

H120 is Editors Choice

In the latest edition of Hifi Choice magazine (460), Hegel H120 receives the editors choice accolade. In the review David Vivian writes “The Hegel does the big picture/fine detail thing better than any amp close to its price” and “It might sit in the lowly part of Hegel’s amplifier range, but the H120 delivers as much excellence as many will ever need”. The overall conclusion is “Another highly desirable Hegel that ticks all the boxes and then some” This is the model that garnered much praise at the recent Bristol Hifi showBristol Hifi show, and I love the balance of performance and cost.

Amphion Argon 1 in Hifi Choice

Hot on the heels of the Argon 7LS review on Hifi pig, Ed Selley writing in Hifi Choice issue 436 presents a review of the Argon 1. I have a soft spot for the Argon 1 as it was the first model I auditioned prior to becoming the UK sales agent for the brand. I fell in love with its mix of strong tuneful bass, open sweet mid, and natural HF, all in a handsome stylish cabinet. Ed is very positive in his review and picks up on a couple of the key design elements of the product, it is well worth a read. A PDF is available here.
